Board of Zoning of Appeals
2nd Thursday of each month from 9 a. m. - 10 a. m. @City Hall - Council Chambers (basement)
The Columbia Zoning Board of Appeals is a quasi-judicial body that conducts evidentiary hearings on requests for variances, special use permits, and appeals from administrative decisions regarding the Zoning Ordinance. Anyone requesting accommodations due to disabilities should call 931-560-1570 prior to the meeting.

​City Council Study Session
5:30 p.m. @City Hall - Council Chambers (Basement)
City Council Study Sessions are open to the public and meant to be a meeting for City Council to prepare for the vote meetings, which are held the second Thursday of each month (City Council Regular Meeting). A sign up sheet will be outside the Council Chamber doors prior to the start of the meeting for anyone who would like to address Council at the Study Session.

City Council Regular Meeting
5:30 p.m. @City Hall - Council Chambers (basement)
Regular City Council Meetings are open to the public and are the vote meetings for the City of Columbia City Council Members. Anyone wanting to speak on an agenda item listed may do so by signing up before the meeting begins. The sign up sheet will be on a table outside of the Council Chamber doors.

Columbia Arts Council
This is the monthly meeting of the Columbia Arts Council. It is open and free to the public. Anyone requesting accommodations due to disabilities should call 931-560-1570 prior to the meeting.

Historic Zoning Commission
3rd Wednesday of every month at 4:00 p.m. @City Hall - Council Chambers (basement)
The Historic Zoning Commission serves as City Council's official historic preservation review body to identify, preserve, protect, and promote Columbia’s historic resources. Anyone requesting accommodations due to disabilities should call 931-560-1570 prior to the meeting.

The Planning Commission advises Columbia City Council on future growth patterns and development issues that affect the city. The Commission reviews and makes recommendations to Council on Comprehensive Plan items, redevelopment plans, changes in development regulations, requests to rezone properties, annexations, and reviews preliminary site plans, group housing plans, and subdivisions.
